Why go for Stearns and Foster latex mattress when you can have Sealy mattress or
Englander latex mattress? I am not saying that Sealy and Englander are better brands than Stearns and Foster. It is just that when it comes to
mattress, you have to exhaust all your options before really arriving to a decision. Stearns and Foster promise exceptional sleep with their
Luxury latex collection. What can make you turn your head to their mattresses is the seemingly luxurious design that makes them look like they
are worth thousands of dollars (which they usually do!). Actually, they do not offer pure latex. They only integrate latex foam as a core
material and combined with their standard technology, the innerspring technology. They call their latex “luxurious” due to the following reasons:
- Alleviates pressure points-it provides the best comfort in alleviating pressure points in your back, head, neck and
spine. Without these usual mattress problems, you can find more comfort in your sleep.
- Zero motion transfer-one problem with innerspring mattresses is motion transfer. When you have a bed partner that often
trashes in bed, you may be deep asleep but your body still detects these slight movements causing you to toss and turn unconsciously. This
will lead to reduced blood flow which can then cause body aches too.
- Synthetic-they say that their mattress is non-allergenic and anti-microbial because they use synthetic materials.
Actually, synthetic materials can cause allergies especially to those with chemical allergies. I think what they are trying to claim here is
that their latex does not contain proteins that may trigger latex allergies. If this is the case, then it is true. It is non-allergenic.
- A good ventilation system inside-latex mattresses have a pincore hole design that allows the mattress to be breathable.
Because of this, you eliminate the chances of waking up drenched in sweat during summer and freezing during winter.
What is good about it is that you get to choose the right firmness. Latex is supposed to be bouncy but since it is not 100% latex, you have
the option of choosing foam with plush comfort or those with very firm comfort. To me, it lacks the glory that is latex mattress. I am sure that
was the intention but it is still a point of disappointment that they were unable to capture the real essence of using latex mattress. It still
has the breathability and the inherent skill of resisting bacteria and allergens but it may not be as durable as 100% natural latex. Also, the
price can cost an arm and a leg. It starts at $2000. You can get a 100% natural latex mattress with this price. But then it is significantly
cheaper than 100% natural latex. If you do not want latex material to rule your mattress and you still hang on to the benefits of innerspring but
you would want to get rid of the usual problems in this mattress, then Stearns and Foster latex mattress is the right mattress for you. I would
consider this is as a hybrid mattress, though. For the price you are going to pay for a hybrid mattress, it is a bit expensive but that much is
to be expected from an upscale brand such as Stearns and Foster.
